Sri Lanka Janasetha Sahana Foundation (JSSF) was founded on 1st January 1990 by Shantha Wimalasiri Gunewardena  (Justice of Peace) , its President and Managing Director. JSSF is a non-government, non-profit making, and non-political welfare organization. It is registered under the Government Registrar of Companies (Registered No. NA 329) and is also under the Department of Social Services (Registered No. G/15/91). JSSF is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of 6 Directors.The President and Managing Director is also the Chief Executive. All accounts of the Foundation are audited annually by an approved firm of Auditors and submitted to the Board of Directors for approval. JSSF has 18 years experience in designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating of programmes and advocacy.

Our objectives

DEVELOPMENT - Community development through multifaceted approach, to reduce economic, psychological, racial and religious disharmony amongst the people of Sri Lanka.

PROMOTION - Promote gender equality in all spheres.

EMPOWERMENT - Economic Empowerment of disadvantaged communities through training and financial assistance.

LEADERSHIP - Take leadership in environmental protection efforts.

HELPFULNESS - Extending the hand of helpfulness and friendship at times of disasters whether natural or otherwise irrespective of ethnic, religious, cast or class barriers.

ASSISTANCE - Organizing, educating and assisting societies in protecting vulnerable communities against exploitation, trafficking and human rights violations.

TRAINING - Provide enhanced training, along with essential teaching materials and equipment to the pre-school teachers directed at improving the delivery of education services in rural and disadvantaged areas of the island.
 
PREVENTION - Conduct national awareness programs aiming at preventing diseases such as Tuberculosis, reducing the spreading of common mosquito related diseases such as Malaria and Dengue and also educating and raising awareness of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases.

AWARENESS - Raising awareness against the use of dangerous drugs and implement and assisting in organizing rehabilitation programmes.

COLLABORATION - Collaborate with other civic organizations to promote our objectives.

RELATIONSHIPS - Building relations with local and foreign institutions to meet our objectives.
